The Logo could be as light as air, with just a few lines or elements.

        它可以轻松地打破时空的局限,随着时代和载体变换自如。在不同年代的宣传册中,在不同材料的物品上,它链接着熊猫基地的过去和未来,见证熊猫基地从无人问津的小荒坡,发展成为集科研保护、科普教育、文化创意为一体的生态型国际旅游度假区。见证星星之火,终以燎原之势,享誉全球。

        It can easily break past the limitations of time and space and change freely with the times and media. In brochures for different ages and media made of different materials, it links the past and future of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (Panda Base), witnessing the Panda Base’s development from a small barren hill to an international ecological tourist resort that integrates scientific research and conservation, popular science education, and cultural creativity. It has witnessed the Panda Base gains world renown, as a tiny spark that eventually becomes passionate fire.

        它承载着熊猫基地33年苦心钻研、团结奋斗、改革创新的岁月。它将是熊猫基地改扩建后,VI视觉系统的一块重要拼图,将熊猫基地全新功能定位与文化建设要求化作线条里的生命力,助力成都大熊猫文化品牌全球影响力的提升。

       It bears 33 years of painstaking research, unity, endeavors, reforms, and innovations of the Panda Base. It will be an important piece of the VI system puzzle after the Panda Base was reconstructed and expanded. It will turn the new functional orientation and cultural development requirements of the Panda Base into vitality in the lines, and help enhance the global influence of the giant panda cultural brand that bloomed in Chengdu.

        WHO AM I? Should the design highlight the rare, lovely, wild, and ancient giant panda? Or should it tell the 33-year history of the Panda Base? Or should it adopt the aesthetic changes in both positive and negative forms, minimalism, cartoons, and geometry? From different cultural backgrounds and different philosophies, you will be able to answer these questions with your unique and wonderful logo design.

Global Competition of Logo Design for Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Basic Information

         2021年,成都大熊猫繁育研究基地改扩建区域即将建成并开园。为符合熊猫基地改扩建后的全新功能定位与文化建设要求,2020年12月21日,正式开展“WHO AM I”成都大熊猫繁育科研基地标志(LOGO)征集大赛,并面向全球知名策划公司、艺术家、设计师、设计爱好者发出征集公告。

        In 2021, the reconstructed and expanded areas of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding will be completed and open to the public. In line with the new functional orientation and to meet the cultural development requirements after the Panda Base’s reconstruction and expansion, on December 21, 2020, the “Who AM I” Global Competition of Logo Design for Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding will be officially launched. The solicitation announcement will be issued to world-renowned planning companies, artists, designers, and design enthusiasts.

        本次大赛旨在完善熊猫基地VI视觉识别系统,产出一个符合熊猫基地自身特色,传播力和感染力强,容易被公众接受的LOGO。同时,进一步提升熊猫基地知名度和影响力,确保活动取得正面的、良好的社会传播效果。大赛将通过三轮评审后,产出优胜LOGO。

        The Competition aims to improve the VI system of the Panda Base and produce a logo that conforms to the Base’s characteristics, and is easy to share and accepted by the public. The logo will also further enhance the Base’s popularity and influence and ensure that the Competition generates good publicity. The Competition will result in a winning logo after three rounds of evaluation.

作品要求
Requirements

        作品应贴合基地的地理位置、园区面貌、公园特点、发展历史、社会责任、相关文化特征等实际情况进行创作。
        The works should be created according to the reality of the Panda Base, such as its geographical location, appearance, characteristics, history, social responsibilities, and relevant cultures.

        应对设计定位、适用范畴及精神内涵等进行阐述
        The design orientation, application scenarios, and connotations should be elaborated.

        主题突出、构图简练美观,不主张猎奇方式
        The theme should be prominent and composition concise and beautiful, but attempts of extreme novelty are not encouraged.

        设计作品应具备独特性
        The designs should be unique.

        易读易记易于识别和传播
        The designs should be easy to understand, remember, identify, and share.

        设计应易于延展,可举例展示LOGO作品在对不同场景、材料、制作条件下,相应的设计手段,兼顾不同的视觉传播方式。
        The designs should be easy to extend. Examples can be given to show the corresponding design methods with the logo used in different scenarios, with different materials and under different production conditions, taking into account different methods of visual communication.

        本次基地标志(Logo)征集大赛设立一等奖1名,二等奖2名,三等奖3名,优秀奖/入围奖14名。
        There are 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 14 honorable mention / shortlisted prizes in the Competition. The awards are:

        一等奖奖金:12万元
        First prize: CNY 120,000

        二等奖奖金:3万元
